5 Must-haves for Industrial B2B Websites

When thinking about creating or redesigning a website there is a ton to consider! It can be overwhelming at times, but these five options can help separate your site from your competitors in the B2B industry.

High-Quality Updated Content

One of the first things to know about content regarding digital marketing is “content is king”. This silly yet memorable phrase is actually very accurate. Content is all over the site. It includes not only the text on the page but meta descriptionstitle tags, schema and plenty of other items behind the scenes that help tell Google what your company does. High quality content can affect the overall traffic to the site, user experience, and whether your company gets a lead versus another!

Distinct CTA Buttons

Have you ever visited a website and been unsure of where to click next? Or even how to purchase an item? Typically, when either of those things happens, a user exits the website and tries somewhere new. Adding a few CTAs, however, can help direct people on which action they should take next.

CTA, which stands for Call-to-Action, can be buttons or links in text and are ultimately what drives conversions on a website. As simple of an idea as buttons are, a great deal of strategy can be used when considering color, size, placement, or the text on the button! Placing a button that is a contrasting color in the ideal place of your website, for example, can do wonders to boost conversions.

Clear images

Having clear images is a must if you want to look professional in the public’s eye. Images can add visual appeal that keeps users on a page longer or can be informational!

Let’s put things into perspective. What happens when two sites say they can preform the same service but only one site has photo (or video) evidence of the flawless work they can do? Do you go with the website that says they can do the service, or the one that shows you they know what they are doing and potentially give you ideas for your project? Show users how reliable your company is by including a few high-quality photos or videos on your site.

Custom Web Modules

Custom website modules are additional components you can add to your side to increase performance and user experience. Each website has different goals, and these modules are here to help. My favorite and the one I see the most beneficial for many B2B clients are product configurators. A product configurator is a simple way for users to sort through items in a fast and efficient way.

When creating a configurator you, the expert of your industry, decides what factors are most important to sort by. With these factors in mind, a developer can create rules for users to select and can sort thousands of products down to a few in mere seconds! Pretty cool right? These configurators can be as simple or as complex as you need.

Strategic Website Navigation

Navigation is the structure of a website. The goal of navigation is to make it easy for users to find what they are looking for in the most efficient and aesthetically pleasing way. If your navigation is unclear and poorly laid out users will not know where to go, increasing the chance of them leaving the site. A strategic navigation is essential for a well-functioning website.
