Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization for Long-Term Results

Traditional, "organic" search engine optimization gets your web site prominently placed in the search engines' editorial results. As your search engine marketing firm, our optimization services include:

  • A comprehensive Site Design Analysis. We analyze all facets of your site according to our lengthy checklist. We look at your design, graphics, use of technologies, architecture, navigation, and coding to determine how search engine-friendly your site is. As a search engine marketing firm, we understand what techniques work best with the ever-changing search engines. We'll recommend any workarounds that might be necessary so that your site is as welcoming to search engines as possible, without sacrificing the visitor's experience. Other companies may have packages, limiting number of pages or words. We believe that every site and company is different and prefer to conduct this Site Design Analysis and give you quote on the work that is needed.

  • A Spam Avoidance Document. Many clients are unclear as to which search engine marketing tactics search engines allow, and which can get you into trouble. We'll educate you and help determine if anything problematic may have been inadvertently done with your site in the past.

  • Search Term Research. The most important part of our job as a search engine marketing firm is to determine which search terms the site should be optimized for. We consult a number of resources and compile a list of hundreds of potential search terms. Then we research which search terms are actually being used the most frequently and match your products or services. We also use two methods to scrutinize the competitiveness of each term to ensure we're not battling too many other sites for position. This process results in a list of search terms that are relevant to your business, used frequently by searchers, and with which we're likely to attain high rankings.

  • Text & Tags for your optimized web pages. There are 10 places on a web page the search engines look to figure out what that page is about. We optimize each web page for one to two search terms only, and ideally, we use the terms in all 10 places. Our search engine marketing copywriter will work with your existing copy to fit integrate appropriate search terms in without disrupting the flow of your message.

  • Submission of your site to the most-used search engines. Some of these engines charge sites for inclusion. We'll provide an estimate of these costs and advise which paid inclusion engines may (or may not) be worthwhile.

  • Directories. Being listed in the top search engine directories (Yahoo!, Looksmart, Open Directory Project) is a significant facet of search engine marketing. If your site isn't listed, we will determine which directories are relevant to your business or industry and submit you on your behalf. This includes recommending the best category and crafting a site description that follows each directory's guidelines, includes your key search terms, emulates each editor's particular style, and entices your target audience to click through.

  • Reporting. We'll supply a baseline report before any work is done as our "before" snapshot. Four to six weeks after submitting the site, we'll supply our first "after" report. Reporting may include rankings, site traffic, and conversions, depending upon your needs. Click for more details about our Ongoing Support & Reporting services.

Unlike other Search Engine Marketing firms, we understand that you do not fit into a cookie-cutter program. Therefore, Search engine optimization services prices vary on the size of the site and the words needed to be covered. The process can take as little as three to four weeks from start to submission, but if significant site changes are necessary, it can take longer. Ongoing Support & Reporting is recommended, but never required.

Note that the fees charged by some search engines and directories for inclusion/submission are in addition to ecreativeworks fees. These will be estimated and approved in advance, and are never marked up in any way.

Not sure whether search engine optimization or a pay per click advertising program would be best for your needs? Click to read the advantages and disadvantages of each, as well as how we use them together strategically for some clients. Or contact us and we'll be happy to help figure out what makes the most sense for you.
