The Latest Trends in Technology:
Mobile
Research
Always looking for new services to offer our clients, Ecreativeworks is looking into the Mobile Internet. What does it take to become visible on the Mobile Web? How do we help make a conversion on a website? How does a Mobile Searcher differ from a PC Searcher?
The results are astounding! Did you know that according to Marketing Sherpa, 64% of Business to Business decision makers read their emails on mobile devices? That is a huge percentage! It implies, as well, that there is room for further development and use of the Mobile Internet.
There are other things to consider with the research that we have found. What is the Mobile Internet used for and how do browsers search the Mobile Web? A searcher does not search aimlessly. The searcher is looking for specific results. The Mobile Internet is, on average, currently used to look for content, services, movies and DVDs. The searches are extremely localized. The searcher is looking for a service or product in a certain area.
Time is valuable for a searcher, so placement in the search engines is even more important. It is said that a browser will not look further than the first, maybe second page of search results. Google is the top search engine for searchers, like the PC Internet. The difference between each type of searcher is the amount of characters they will type in to get a result. A typical searcher on the World Wide Web will use up to 14.5 key strokes, but a mobile user will use less than 12.
Understanding the difference between the two different types of searches is important. Your Mobile Website needs to be organized in a manner that will attract the Search Engines and provide the content your customers will want.
We touch on the Mobile Search on our Blog as well. One of the topics we discuss is the usability and duplicate content of the Mobile Internet and the concept of designing for “one web.”
Share Your
Mobile
Experience
We would be curious to know who uses their mobile devices to check emails. How does our email newsletter look in your mobile browser? How many of you use your mobile phones to browse the Internet? Share your experience with us, so we can develop our research further.
Why Building Content on your Site is So Important
The fastest way to get more traffic to your site from the search engines is to create more content. There are many reasons why, but the most important is this: every word on your site is a potential keyword for someone to find your site with. The more words (keywords) on your site, the more opportunities you’re giving potential customers to find you with.
Here's an example. Let’s say you manufacture die castings. Your main keyword phrase would be “die castings”. But not everyone will be searching for die castings, and perhaps you’ve figured this out. So maybe you add “aluminum die castings,” “brass die castings,” and “high pressure die castings” to your list of keywords and have create content for those.
That’s a great start, but here’s what you may not know. Even those phrases make up only a fraction of the potential keyword phrases your customers are searching for. Here is a sample of actual phrases that were used to find a die casting manufacturer site.
Now, how could you possibly guess that your customers would search for these keyword phrases? The answer is you can’t. What you can do, however, is create more content on your site that in turn gives you the best opportunity to be found for those keyword phrases.
Think of the words on your site as the bait that catches your customers. The more bait you have to fish with, the more likely you are to catch fish….and customers.
