In 2000, the Abrasives Division of 3M was looking for a way of not only sending Internet users who wanted to buy 3M products to their channel partners (distributors), but also to handle the transaction itself. They were also looking for a solution to provide accurate product information for these same channel partners to present on their own web site.

Many manufacturers have talked to us about the challenges facing them regarding linking products from their web site to within a distributor site, and managing product updates within the distributor's web site. Then the real challenge ... keeping it all accurate and up-to-date.

Ecreativeworks developed a web solution that builds a master web site that manages all of the product details, while giving control of the pricing and sales terms to the distributor. This distributor support model also handles all ordering and quoting inquires that go to the distributor directly. Besides designing and building an application that manages all this content, it also builds a copy of the master web site so that each distributor can present their contact information and logo. We are also involved with the concept presentation, program set-up and training.
